"With my beloved grandma turning 90 years old, my family wanted to mark this milestone with a gorgeous bespoke cake at her birthday celebration. Without a second thought, I contacted Liz and Khanh at Cake me as I knew from personal experience that they are the ones to go to when you want a professional and delicious occasion cake.
My grandma, an avid pianist and music lover, also has an inclination for all things purple and my challenge was to articulate this particular theme to the team at Cake Me. Thankfully Liz and Khanh combined their creative minds and exerted a little engineering flair to come up with a number of cake ideas accompanied by detailed sketches for my family to select.
On the day of the unveiling, no one was happier and more impressed than the celebrant herself, my grandma. The two-tiered piano key fondant- covered cake was made to perfection. When I had requested for a baby grand piano theme, the team at Cake Me did one better and designed the cake to have a baby grand piano lid at the top with the merry words, “Happy Birthday Pepeng!” in hand-made mauve fondant lettering.
Whilst it did take a bit of coaxing to get my grandma to cut into the cake (She had repeated that, “The cake was too beautiful to cut”), all guests fell into an appreciative silence as we enjoyed the chocolate mud ganache filling.
So thank you, Liz and Khanh for making my grandma’s birthday all the more memorable—we couldn’t have trusted a better team of cake artists to handle my grandma’s birthday with the talent and experience that was delivered on the day.
For those looking for a professional and personable business, then look no further than the Cake Me. It can’t be said enough that Liz and Khanh go above and beyond in their services to provide the very best and their know-how when it comes to cake engineering is second to none. They are always in contact to ensure that you know what to expect and their prices are competitive and commensurate of their bespoke cake-making skills. I will definitely return as a customer--the problem is that I don’t have any milestone events on the horizon…(perhaps I should just make one up so that I can work with Cake Me again?)"
